PruningGround

Jameson hollow core poles are fiberglass pole sections that lock together to build reach for pole saws and pole pruners. The 6 foot length is a handy size for the truck and lets you add reach in small steps.

Why sectional poles

A single long pole is awkward to transport and too much tool for low cuts. Sectional poles let you start short and add sections as you reach higher, so you carry only as much weight overhead as the cut needs. Six foot sections fit easily in most trucks and give fine control over total reach.

Hollow core poles are lighter than foam-filled poles, which makes a real difference over a day of overhead work. The trade-off is that the inside of the tube is open, so keep end caps on and keep the poles clean and dry.

For most tree crews, a pole kit is two to four sections plus a saw head and a pruner head. Starting with a couple of 6 foot hollow core poles gives a manageable kit for lifting canopies and clearing low limbs, and you can add sections as the work demands. Check that the locking buttons engage fully at every joint before you raise the pole.

Care and safety

Inspect each section before use for cracks, splinters, crushed walls and worn fittings. Store poles off the ground and out of the sun when possible, and wipe them down so dirt and moisture don't build up.

Do not assume any pole is safe near energized lines. Line clearance work requires tools rated and tested for it and workers qualified under the applicable standard. For heads and kits, see our poles and pole kits range.
