PruningGround

The Jameson hollow core pole is a 4 ft fiberglass section for pole saw and pruner setups. Use it to extend your reach or replace a damaged section in an existing kit.

Building the reach you need

Sectional poles let you carry a short kit and build length on site. A 4 ft section is handy for fine-tuning reach, and it is light enough that adding one does not make the pole feel like a log at the top.

Make sure the joint style matches your other sections and heads before ordering. Complete kits and other sections are in poles and kits.

Short sections are also useful for working under a low canopy or in tight spaces between buildings, where a long section is clumsy to handle. Many crews carry a mix of section lengths so they can build exactly the reach they need without the pole sticking out far behind them.

Safe use and care

Keep the required distance from power lines. A fiberglass pole should not be counted on for electrical protection, especially when dirty or wet. Wear a helmet and eye protection when cutting overhead.

Wipe poles clean after use, inspect for cracks, splits or crushed ends, and retire any damaged section. Store them dry and out of direct sun when possible.

Hollow core poles are lighter than solid or foam-filled poles of the same length, which helps with control at full extension. Treat them gently in the truck, because a crushed end or a deep gouge can weaken the section.
