PruningGround

The Jameson foam filled pole is a 10 ft fiberglass pole section that tree crews use with pole saws and pruner heads for ground-based pruning. The foam core helps keep moisture and debris out of the tube, and fiberglass gives a stiff, durable pole that stands up to daily truck life.

Why foam-filled fiberglass

A hollow pole can collect moisture and dirt inside the tube. Filling it with foam helps keep that out and keeps the pole consistent over time. Fiberglass also takes knocks better than aluminum and does not dent when it rattles around in the truck.

At 10 ft, this section is long enough to reach most lower canopy work from the ground on its own, and it connects to other sections when you need more reach.

A stiff pole matters on longer reaches. Less flex means more of your effort goes into the cut, and the saw head tracks where you aim it.

Fiberglass is also more forgiving in cold weather than aluminum, which can feel freezing in the hands on winter jobs.

Using it safely

Even foam-filled fiberglass should be treated as conductive unless the pole is specifically rated and tested for electrical work, and only qualified line-clearance arborists should ever work near energized conductors. Keep the pole clean and dry, since dirt and moisture on the surface reduce any insulating value.

Inspect for cracks, splits and worn fittings before use. Keep people out from under the work. See matching saw heads and poles in our poles and kits section.

Store poles off the truck bed floor where they will not be crushed or scratched by other gear.
