A clip-on 8 in pouch that keeps your hand pruners on your hip.
The Weaver pruner pouch with clip holds a pair of hand pruners on a belt or saddle, ready for quick cuts. It is a small piece of kit, but it stops pruners getting dropped, lost or left open in a pocket.
Pruners get used dozens of times a day on a pruning job: suckers, small deadwood, clean-up cuts. Keeping them in a pouch on your hip means you are not digging in a pocket or climbing back down because they fell out. The clip moves easily between your belt and saddle.
Check that your pruners fit an 8 in pouch before ordering. Scabbards and other pouches are in pole saws and scabbards.
Weaver has made climbing and arborist gear for a long time, and its pouches are built for daily use rather than occasional garden work. A pruner pouch is cheap insurance against dropping a pair of pruners from height, which is both a nuisance and a hazard to the ground crew working below.
Mount the pouch on the side opposite your saw scabbard so the two do not crowd each other, and away from where your climbing line runs. Always close the pruners before they go in the pouch.
Shake out sawdust and leaves regularly. If the pouch gets soaked, let it air dry rather than drying it next to a heater.
Ground workers can wear one too. Having pruners on your hip while dragging brush means small cleanup cuts get done on the spot instead of being left for later.
