Marvin Pruner Head Adaptor

The Marvin pruner head adaptor is the fitting that connects a Marvin pole pruner head to the top section of a pole. A worn or cracked adaptor lets the head twist and rock, which ruins cut control overhead.

What the adaptor does

The adaptor takes every twist and pry the pruner sees and passes it into the pole. That makes it a wear item. If the head turns on the pole, clicks under load or sits crooked, the adaptor is often the culprit.

A solid head matters for accuracy. When you are reaching for a crossing limb 15 feet up, you need the blade to go where you aim it, not rotate off the branch.

Adaptors usually fail gradually. You might notice the head creeping out of line with the pole after a few hard cuts, a crack at the base of the fitting, or a fastener that keeps working loose no matter how often you tighten it. Don't keep running a pruner in that state. A head that lets go overhead can fall on the operator or a ground worker, and the blade and hook are sharp. Replace a damaged adaptor before going back to work.

Fitting it

Remove the head from the old adaptor, then follow Marvin's instructions to take the adaptor off the pole and fit the new one. Confirm it is fully seated and fastened before reinstalling the head. Check the pull rope route so it runs freely past the new adaptor.
