Synthetic ankle straps that shrug off wet and keep spurs tight to your boot.
Weaver lower synthetic climber straps replace worn ankle straps on your spurs with a synthetic material that handles wet conditions and resists stretching better than old leather. A cheap way to make a set of spurs feel solid again.
Leather straps stretch when wet, stiffen when they dry and crack over time. Synthetic straps stay closer to their original length, clean up easily and don't need conditioning. That keeps the stirrup locked to your boot.
Check that the width suits your climbers. More parts are in replacement gaffs and parts.
They are also easier to keep clean. Sap and mud rinse off, and the strap doesn't need oiling to stay supple through the season.
Snug the lower strap so the stirrup sits tight under the arch and can't roll on the boot.
Before each climb, check straps for cuts, fraying and worn holes, and make sure buckles close and hold. Replace straps at the first sign of damage.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions and ANSI Z133, and always climb on spurs with a lanyard or flipline.
Spur parts are cheap next to a fall or a lost day. Keep a small kit in the climbing bag with a file, a gauge, spare screws and a strap, so a worn part gets swapped at the truck instead of nursed through the rest of the job.
When you order parts, note your climber brand, model and roughly when you bought it. Makers revise designs over the years, and that detail is the fastest way to be sure the replacement matches what is on your spurs.

They may fit spurs with a similar stirrup. Check the width and buckle before ordering.
They handle wet better and stretch less, but either works if kept in good condition.
