Climbing

The Teufelberger Kitbag is a carry bag for a climbing rope and the gear that goes with it. It keeps your line and soft goods together, clean, and easy to grab when you head to the tree.

Rope and kit in one place

A climber's kit is only as good as its weakest piece, and the piece most likely to go missing is the small one: a spare hitch cord, a micro pulley, a second carabiner. Keeping rope and kit in the same bag means one grab at the truck gets you everything for the climb, and one look at the end of the day tells you it all came back.

Keeping the rope bagged at the base of the tree also keeps it out of the sawdust and away from the chipper path. See more options in our rope bags.

Packing and care

Stuff the rope in hand over hand so it pays out clean, and keep hardware where it will not grind against the line. Spurs and saws belong in their own covers so they cannot cut rope or webbing.

Dry the bag and its contents before storing, and keep it away from fuel, bar oil, and battery acid. A bag protects gear between jobs, but every piece still needs inspection before each climb, following the maker's instructions and ANSI Z133 practice.

At the end of the day, empty the bag now and then and look at everything in it. Gear that rides in a bag for weeks can hide damage, and a quick sort also turns up the spare carabiner you thought you lost.
