A 30L backpack rope bag that keeps your line clean and your hands free.
The Husqvarna backpack rope bag is a 30 liter bag that holds a climbing line flaked and ready to deploy. Carry it on your shoulders to the tree, set it down at the base and the rope feeds out clean, without picking up dirt and sawdust from the ground.
Rope rides best in its own bag. The backpack style lets you carry a climbing line on your shoulders while your hands handle a saw and throw line kit. At the tree, open it up and the rope pays out from the top as you install your line, then flake it back in when you come down.
Thirty liters suits a typical climbing line. If you carry a long line or a thick rigging rope, check the length and diameter against the bag before you count on it.
A dedicated rope bag also helps you keep track of rope history. One rope, one bag, and a tag with the date it went into service makes logging inspections much simpler for a climber or a crew lead.
Grit inside the braid wears rope from the inside, and a bag is the easiest way to keep it out. Shake out the bag often and dry wet rope before storing it.
When you flake rope into the bag, run your hands along it. Bagging is a natural time to feel for flat spots, stiff sections, cuts and glazing, and to catch damage before the next climb rather than at the top of the tree.
