GroundMaintenance

Husqvarna Titanium Force trimmer line is a reinforced string built to last longer against fences, rock and woody stems. The Titanium X-Pro grade is the pick when standard line keeps snapping on heavy cleanup.

Why crews run titanium weed eater string

A tree job is not always finished when the last log is loaded. Overgrown fence lines, stumps surrounded by weeds and edges chewed up by the chipper all need a trimmer, and cheap line breaks the moment it touches chain link or stone. Husqvarna titanium x pro line is made to keep cutting through that kind of abuse, which means fewer stops to bump or rewind the head.

Husqvarna titanium force string trimmer line uses a reinforced polymer blend. The result is line that resists welding together on the spool in hot weather and wears down more slowly at the tip.

The titanium weed eater string label refers to the reinforcing material in the blend, not a metal wire. It is still a polymer line that is safe to use in normal trimmer heads, but it is stiffer and tougher than basic line.

Choosing a diameter

Always use the diameter your trimmer head is designed for. Thicker line cuts heavier growth but needs more engine power and may not fit small heads. Light-duty trimmers do best with smaller line; professional gas trimmers and brushcutters can run thicker line for weeds, cane and light brush.

If your head's eyelets show a maximum size, stay within it. Line that is too heavy loads the engine, overheats the clutch and wears the head faster. Line that is too light snaps constantly.

Profile matters too. Shaped line has edges that slice grass and weeds rather than tearing them, which leaves a cleaner finish and takes a little less power. Round line is quieter and tends to last longer against hard edges, so pick based on where you spend most of your time.

Loading and storing line

Wind line tight and even onto the spool, in the direction marked on the head, and do not overfill. A loose or crossed wind causes jams. Cut a fresh end at an angle so it feeds cleanly through the eyelet.

Store spare line out of direct sun. Some crews soak line in water overnight before loading it to keep it supple, which can help in very dry, hot climates. Keep the spool bagged so it does not pick up grit in the truck.

Buy line in the size of package that suits your crew. A small donut is fine for a single trimmer on the truck, while a large spool in the shop is cheaper per foot if you run several machines and reload often.

Safe trimming around the job

Trimmers throw rock, glass and wood chips hard. Wear eye protection, hearing protection and long pants, and keep bystanders and other crew well back. Use the guard that came with your trimmer. Before trimming around a finished tree job, walk the area and pick up loose wood, wire and stones. A trimmer hitting a stray piece of hardware can throw it a long way.
