A proven 74 cc cut-off saw for concrete, pavers, pipe and steel on the jobsite.
The Husqvarna K770 is a gas power cutter that takes 12 in. or 14 in. blades and handles concrete, masonry, pipe and metal. Tree and landscape crews keep one on the truck for curb cuts, paver work, root barrier trenches and cutting steel cable and hardware.
The Husqvarna K770 is not a tree tool, but plenty of tree and landscape companies end up owning one. Removals near hardscape lead to curb and sidewalk cuts. Root work turns into cutting a trench for a root barrier through compacted soil and old concrete. Stump jobs uncover buried pipe, rebar and steel cable. A power cutter turns each of those into a quick cut instead of an afternoon with a sledge.
K770 Husqvarna owners like it because it is simple. The engine starts easily, the cutter is balanced for its size, and parts and blades are easy to find. It is a common rental-yard saw for a reason.
The K770 also earns its place on storm work, where uprooted trees tear up driveways, fences and utility hardware. Being able to cut a broken slab, a bent post or a steel guard out of the way gets the tree crew working sooner.
The K770 runs a 73.5 cc two-stroke engine rated at about 5 horsepower. Fit a 14 in. blade for close to 5 in. of cutting depth, or a 12 in. blade for lighter handling. Use the right blade for the material: diamond blades for concrete and masonry, abrasive or metal-rated diamond for steel and ductile iron. Never mount a blade rated for a lower RPM than the saw.
The cutting arm can be reversed so the blade sits on the outside, letting you cut closer to walls and curbs. The air filtration system is designed for dust, but filters still need regular service when you cut dry.
Cutting concrete and stone dry throws crystalline silica dust, which is a serious lung hazard and regulated by OSHA. The K770 has a water kit; hook up a hose or a pressurized tank and cut wet whenever you are on masonry. Wet cutting also keeps diamond blades cooler and longer lived.
Wear eye protection, hearing protection, gloves and a respirator suited to the task. Keep the blade guard set so sparks and slurry go away from you, and stand to the side of the cutting line.
Slurry from wet cutting is slick and can stain. Plan where the water will run, protect nearby finishes and clean up before the slurry dries.
The typical Husqvarna K770 price is around the figure shown, usually without a blade. Budget for blades, a spare air filter and a water tank if you will not always have a hose. Run fresh 50:1 mix, clean the filters often, and check the drive belt tension when the cutter feels like it is slipping in the cut.
Compare it with other jobsite gear in our blowers and other equipment section. Anyone running a power cutter should be trained on kickback and pull-in, which work differently from a chainsaw.

It runs 12 in. or 14 in. blades. A 14 in. blade gives about 5 in. of cutting depth.
Yes, with a blade rated for steel. Match the blade to the material and the saw's RPM.
On concrete, stone and masonry, cutting wet is the best way to control silica dust. Use the water kit and wear proper respiratory protection.
