GroundMaintenancePro grade

The Husqvarna 590BTS backpack blower is one of the most powerful gas backpack blowers in Husqvarna's professional range. Tree crews use it to clear chips, sawdust, and leaves from lawns, driveways, and roofs at the end of a job.

Why a big blower matters on tree jobs

Cleanup is what the customer remembers. After a removal, sawdust gets ground into the lawn, chips scatter across the driveway, and small twigs hide in landscape beds. A strong backpack blower moves all of that quickly, including damp sawdust and packed chips that a smaller handheld blower just pushes around.

The 590BTS sits at the top of Husqvarna's backpack blower range. That extra output pays off on big properties, wet fall leaves, and storm cleanup where you are moving a lot of material in a short time.

The blower also earns its keep on roofs and gutters after a crown cleaning or removal over a house. A strong blower clears leaves and twigs from shingles quickly, which saves hand work and gives the customer a clean roof. Use proper fall protection and work-positioning on any roof work.

Comfort and control

A big blower is only useful if you can wear it for a full cleanup. The 590BTS uses a padded harness and back pad to spread the weight, and the throttle on the tube lets you feather airflow around flower beds, gravel, and mulch. Run lower throttle near loose stone and mulch and save full output for open pavement and lawn.

Keep the nozzle low and work in one direction, pushing debris into a pile you can rake or vacuum up instead of blowing it into a neighbor's yard.

Fit the harness before you start. Adjust the shoulder straps so the back pad sits flat and the weight rides on your hips, not your shoulders. Set the tube length so the nozzle reaches the ground comfortably without bending your wrist. These small adjustments matter more on a large, powerful blower than on a small one.

Mind noise. Many towns have rules about gas blower use and times of day. Check local ordinances, and start blowing after the saws and chipper are done so neighbors hear the noise for the shortest time possible.

Ownership notes

Husqvarna 590BTS prices vary by dealer and region; it typically costs more than mid-range blowers such as the 580BTS. Before buying, check whether a local dealer can service it, since a commercial blower will need filters, plugs, and the occasional carburetor cleaning over its life.

Use fresh mixed fuel, clean the air filters often, and inspect the harness and tube clamps. Wear hearing and eye protection and a dust mask when blowing fine sawdust. Browse other blowers and power equipment to round out your cleanup kit.

A cleaning kit for the engine cooling fins, a spare air filter, and a spark plug on the truck will save a trip back to the shop. Inspect the harness for wear on the straps and buckles at the start of each season.

Store the blower with an empty tank or stabilized fuel if it will sit for more than a few weeks. Check the tube connections for cracks before each season.
