RiggingPro grade

The Omni-Block 2.6 with loopie sling pairs Rock Exotica's swiveling 2.6 in pulley with an adjustable loopie, so you can set a rigging point on almost any stem in seconds. It is a favorite for light rigging, speedlines and redirects.

Why the Omni-Block and loopie work together

The Omni-Block's side plates open so you can drop the lowering line in mid-rope, and its swivel lets the pulley turn to face the load. A loopie sling cinches around the stem and adjusts to the diameter, so one sling covers a wide range of rigging points. Together they make a fast, compact rigging kit that rides on the saddle without much weight.

This combination is aimed at lighter rigging: brush, small tops and limb work, plus redirects and speedline anchors. For big wood, step up to a dedicated rigging block and heavier sling.

The kit rides light on the saddle, so a climber can carry it up and set a rigging point exactly where it is needed rather than relying on a natural crotch. That gives more control over where pieces swing and land, protects the bark at the rigging point, and keeps friction predictable for the ground worker running the lowering line from the base.

Ratings and inspection

Check the strength markings on the pulley and the sling's rating, and make sure the whole system, including rope and connectors, is matched to the forces involved. Rigging loads are dynamic and can be far higher than the weight of the piece. Compare options in adjustable slings.

Inspect the sheave, axle, swivel and side plates for wear and the sling for cuts or glazing before each job. Rig within the rated strength of every component, inspect gear before each job, and make sure the crew is trained in rigging practice under ANSI Z133 and the manufacturer's instructions.
