Heavy 3/4 in adjustable rope sling for anchoring blocks and lowering devices.
This 3/4 inch soft anchor rigging sling is an adjustable rope sling for anchoring rigging blocks and lowering devices. It wraps the stem, cinches to size and is easier on bark than chain.
Soft slings grip the stem and protect the bark compared with chain or wire. An adjustable sling cinches down to fit, so one sling covers a wide range of stem sizes. At 3/4 inch, this one is sized for heavier rigging where the block or lowering device is taking real force.
It also works at the base of the tree to anchor a port-a-wrap or other lowering device.
Rope slings have another benefit on heavy rigging: they can be choked tight and set on a stem with less slip than flat webbing, which helps keep a block exactly where you set it under shock load. They also store compactly in a rigging bag and can be paired with a second sling for redundancy when the job calls for it.
Check the rating on the tag before you rig, and remember that a dropped piece can load the system many times its weight. Make sure the anchor tree and every link in the system are sized for the load.
Inspect for cut strands, glazing, crushed sections or a pulled bury, and retire after heavy shock loading or damage. Keep it away from saw cuts. See other adjustable rigging slings.
