A 4 foot Tenex soft anchor sling for rigging points and anchors.
This 1/2 inch by 4 foot Tenex soft anchor rigging sling is built from Samson's Tenex single braid polyester, which splices easily and holds up to abrasion. Crews use it to set rigging points, anchor blocks, and build soft anchors on stems.
Tenex is a 12 strand single braid polyester rope from Samson. It splices cleanly into strong eyes, it is firm enough to hold its shape, and polyester resists abrasion and holds up to sun and weather. Those traits make it a common choice for rigging and anchor slings.
At 4 feet, this sling suits small and mid-size stems for rigging points and soft anchors. Look through our adjustable slings for other lengths.
Soft slings are also kinder to the tree you are leaving behind than chain or wire, and they are lighter to carry aloft. A short sling like this lives easily on the saddle or in the rigging bag.
Read the tag for its rated strength and remember a choker or girth hitch reduces it. A rigging point can see close to double the line load when the line runs back to the ground.
Inspect before each use for cuts, glazing, flat spots, and pulled strands, and check the splices for slipping. Retire the sling if the tag is gone or it has been severely shock loaded. Rigging should follow ANSI Z133.
Store it dry and away from fuel and chemicals, and keep a record of its use.
