Steel felling lever with a turning hook for felling help and rolling logs.
The Husqvarna felling bar with cant hook is a steel lever that helps tip small and mid-size trees in the direction of the notch and then doubles as a cant hook for rolling logs while you buck. It is a staple tool for ground crews and firewood cutters.
After the notch and back cut are set, the blade of the felling bar goes into the back cut and you lever the tree over the hinge. It is useful on trees that sit back or lean slightly, and it keeps you standing at the stump instead of pounding wedges in a hurry.
It has limits. A tree with a real back lean needs wedges, a pull line, or a different plan, and a lever is no substitute for a proper felling cut.
On firewood and storm cleanup jobs, it saves your back. Rolling logs with a hook instead of lifting them reduces strain over a full day.
Flip the bar and the hook grabs a log to roll it, so you can finish a cut without putting the chain in the dirt. You can also lever a log up onto a scrap piece to keep it off the ground while bucking.
Check the blade and hook for bends or cracks before use. A bent felling bar does not seat properly in the back cut and can slip under load.
Keep a firm stance and clear footing, and wear chaps and boots. Find more ground tools for the crew.

Not entirely. It helps on trees with little or no back lean, but wedges or a pull line are needed for heavier or back-leaning trees.
It suits small to mid-size trees. Larger trees need wedges or mechanical help.
