ApparelSafetyClimbingPro grade

Arbortec BreatheFlex Pro chainsaw pants put saw protection into a light, stretchy, breathable trouser, here in blue. They are built for climbers and ground crews who want to move freely while still wearing leg protection.

Why climbers like saw pants

Chaps work, but they flap, catch on limbs and get hot. Saw pants build the protective layers into the trouser, so nothing hangs loose when you are climbing, kneeling to buck, or dragging brush. The BreatheFlex Pro adds stretch and ventilation, which matter when you spend all day stepping up limbs or working through summer heat.

Check the label for the protection class and rating, and buy the size that lets the protective panel cover the front of the legs when you crouch.

BreatheFlex Pro pants are a popular choice for climbers who want saw protection without bulk. They also cut down on the snag points that chaps add when you are moving through a crown. Pick the color your crew prefers or your company requires.

Protection and care

Saw protection works by fibers that pull out and clog the chain, so any cut through the outer layer means the pants are done in that area. Wash them as Arbortec instructs, since the wrong detergent or heat can reduce protection. Saw pants are not a substitute for training, good technique and the other PPE ANSI Z133 calls for.

Hang saw pants to dry after wet days, and inspect them each morning for cuts, tears and worn knees before putting them on.
