SafetyApparelClimbingPro grade

The Arbortec BreatheFlex Pro chainsaw pants in Realtree camo with orange accents give climbers and ground crews saw protection in a light, breathable, stretch fit. They are built to be worn all day, up the tree and on the ground.

Why climbers wear saw pants

Chaps work well on the ground, but they flap, catch and get hot when you climb. Saw pants put the cut-resistant layers into the trouser itself, so there is nothing loose to snag on a limb or your saddle.

The BreatheFlex Pro is Arbortec's lighter, more breathable line, made for long days and hot weather. This version pairs Realtree camo with orange accents. Compare colors and fits in chainsaw pants.

On a removal you might climb, cut, rappel and then drag brush for an hour, all in the same pants. That is where a light, stretchy saw pant pays off. You are not taking chaps on and off between jobs, and you are less likely to skip protection because it is too hot.

Fit, rating and care

Check the label for the protection type and class, and make sure it meets what your employer and ANSI Z133 call for on your work. Saw protection only works if it fits, so choose a size that covers you without bunching.

Wash as Arbortec instructs. Any cut that reaches the protective layer means the pants are done and should be replaced, not patched.

Saw protection reduces injury risk but does not make you cut-proof. Keep a sharp chain, a working chain brake, good footing and two hands on the saw whenever you can. Pair the pants with saw boots, gloves, a helmet with face screen and hearing protection.
