GroundMaintenance

The Husqvarna 3/8 mini pixel bar is a narrow .043-gauge guide bar for lighter saws that run 3/8 mini pitch chain. Narrow-gauge systems take a thin kerf, which helps small gas and battery saws cut faster for their power.

Matching bar, chain and saw

A guide bar has to match the chain's pitch and gauge, and the saw's drive sprocket and mount. This bar is set up for 3/8 mini pitch chain in .043 gauge, which is the kind of narrow system Husqvarna fits to lighter saws. Check the saw model, bar length and drive link count before ordering so everything lines up.

Narrow gauge means a thin kerf, so a small engine or battery motor spends less energy removing wood. That suits limbing, pruning cuts and storm cleanup. Compare other chainsaw bars for different lengths and pitches.

For climbers, a lighter bar on a small saw also makes the saw easier to handle one-handed in position and less tiring to carry on the saddle all day.

Bar care

Flip the bar regularly to even out wear, clean the groove and oil holes, and dress the rails flat if they get burred. Make sure the saw is oiling properly; a dry bar wears fast and can pinch the chain.

Replace the bar if the rails are worn uneven, the groove is too shallow for the drive links, or the nose is damaged. Always wear chainsaw-rated PPE when running the saw.

Fit a new chain and check the drive sprocket when you put on a new bar, since a worn sprocket chews up a fresh bar and chain quickly.
