SafeTree Scabbard for Aerial Lifts

The SafeTree aerial lift scabbard gives your pruning saw a secure, covered home on a lift basket or bucket. It keeps the blade off the floor and within reach while you are working aloft.

Made for lift work

Pruning from an aerial lift or spider lift means working in a tight platform with the controls, a chainsaw and a hand saw all within reach. A scabbard keeps the hand saw where you can grab it and stops a loose blade from sliding underfoot. It is the same idea as a saddle scabbard, adapted to a basket.

Measure the rail or wall you plan to mount it to and check it suits your platform.

A covered blade is also safer for the person working in the platform, since an exposed saw blade at knee height in a small basket is an easy way to get cut. The scabbard also keeps the teeth from being dulled by knocking around against the platform floor and rails, so the saw cuts cleaner and longer between sharpenings or blade swaps.

Safe setup

Mount it where it will not interfere with the controls, gates or guardrails, and check fasteners regularly. Do not drill or alter a lift's platform without the maker's approval. Lift operators should be trained, wear the fall protection the lift requires, and work to ANSI Z133.

Check the scabbard for cracks after any hard knock against a limb or stem.
