What fits in a 45 L bag

A 45-liter bag holds a saddle, a rack of carabiners and devices, hitch cords, a lanyard, and throw line, with room left over for a helmet in many setups. Your main climbing line usually goes in its own rope bag.

Packing the same way every time makes it obvious when something is missing before you leave the shop.

Protecting life-support gear

Store the bag somewhere dry and away from fuel and bar oil. If something leaks onto it, check every piece of soft gear inside before it goes back into service, and retire anything contaminated.
