The Buckingham ErgoVation SRT bridge is a bridge designed for the ErgoVation saddle and set up for single-rope technique. It gives your SRS device the right attachment and length on the saddle.

Why a dedicated SRT bridge

On a single-rope ascent, the length and position of your bridge change how efficiently you climb. Too long and you lose height on each stroke. Too short and the device sits awkwardly. An SRT bridge for your saddle puts the device where it works best.

It also serves as a replacement when your existing bridge shows wear, which keeps the ErgoVation in service.

A spare bridge in the truck is also cheap insurance. If you spot wear during your pre-climb check, you can swap it on the spot and keep working instead of losing a day. Keep track of when you changed it so you can plan replacements before they become urgent. Climbers who switch between MRS and SRS often find that a bridge set up for SRS changes how efficient each stroke feels, so it is worth testing the length on the ground before you climb.

Fitting and inspection

Install it exactly as Buckingham shows for the ErgoVation and test your SRS system on the ground before climbing.

Inspect the bridge before every climb for abrasion, glazing and cuts, and replace it when worn. Saddles are life support, so use one within the maker's instructions and ANSI Z133 practice, inspect it before every climb and get trained. See more saddle parts.
