Fresh cuff pads to keep Gecko spurs comfortable on removals.
These replacement pads fit Gecko climbers and restore comfort to the cuffs on your Gecko climbing gear. Fresh pads spread pressure across your calf so you can spike up removals without sore shins.
Spur pads flatten, crack, and soak up sweat and sap over a season. Once they stop cushioning, the cuff digs into your calf and you start adjusting your stance to avoid it, which makes climbing harder. A new set of pads brings the spurs back to how they felt when new.
Swap both sides at once so the fit stays even.
Comfort matters on spurs. When the cuffs fit well, you can stand on your gaffs with less fatigue and keep your attention on the cut rather than on your shins. That makes for a safer, more productive removal.
Gecko climbing gear users who climb in hot weather often find pads wear faster from sweat, so plan to replace them more often in summer.
With the pads off, check the shanks for cracks, the gaffs for length and sharpness, and the straps and buckles for wear. Spurs are for removals only; never spike a tree you are pruning. See more climber pads.
Clean and dry the pads after wet climbs to keep them from breaking down.
If the straps are worn or the buckles do not hold, replace them at the same time, since they work together with the pads to hold the spurs firmly in place. A loose spur is tiring and unsafe.
