GroundClimbingApparelPro grade

Clogger TreeCrew men's chainsaw pants put cut protection into a lighter, more breathable pant than traditional chaps. They are built for arborists who climb, drag brush and run a saw in the same day and want to stay cool doing it.

Pants versus chaps

Chaps go on and off fast, but they can twist, snag and trap heat. Saw pants keep the protection where it belongs whether you are kneeling to buck, climbing a spar or walking brush to the chipper. Clogger built the TreeCrew line around comfort, so they are a common pick for crews in hot weather.

Fit matters with saw pants. Try them on with your saddle and climbing gear, kneel and step up as if you were climbing, and make sure the protective panels stay in front of your legs. Pants that are too long can catch on spurs, and pants that are too tight wear quickly at the seat and knees.

Check the protection class and coverage on the label against your job's requirements. Compare options in our chainsaw pants section.

Care and replacement

Wash saw pants as the label directs; the wrong detergent, bleach or heat can damage the protective fibers. Patch only the outer fabric with methods Clogger approves.

Retire the pants after any cut that reaches the protective layer, since those fibers have done their job and will not stop another cut. Saw pants reduce injury; they do not replace a sharp chain, a working chain brake and good technique.
