The Clogger Ascend Gen 2 chainsaw pants are lightweight, stretch saw pants designed for climbing arborists. The HCB edition is a special version of the Gen 2 Ascend, with the same climbing-focused fit and built-in saw protection.

Built for the climb

Clogger designed the Ascend line for arborists who spend their day in the tree. The Gen 2 pants are cut to move with you on limb walks, high steps and when you are hanging in your saddle, with stretch where you need it and less bulk than traditional saw pants.

The HCB edition keeps the Gen 2 fit and protection. Check the listing for the colorway and any details specific to this edition.

Lighter saw pants also help on hot days, when heavier gear quickly becomes a reason to skip protection.

Protection and care

Saw pants work by clogging the chain with protective fibers. Once those layers have been cut, that protection is gone and the pants should be retired. Check the label for the certification and coverage, and make sure it meets your employer's rules and ANSI Z133 requirements.

Wash them as Clogger instructs to keep the protective layers effective. No saw protection is cut proof. Compare others in our chainsaw pants section.

Order by waist and length and try them with your saddle on so the leg straps sit comfortably over the protective layers.

Inspect them after every job for cuts, snags and worn seams, especially around the knees and lower legs where spurs and brush do the most damage.
