Stretchy saw tether that keeps a top-handle saw on your saddle.
This bungee lanyard tethers your chainsaw to your saddle so it stays with you when you let go. The bungee stretches as you cut and pulls back out of the way when you hang the saw.
Dropping a saw from a tree is dangerous to your ground crew and expensive. A bungee lanyard keeps the saw attached while giving you room to reach. It recoils when you hang the saw so it does not dangle near your climbing line.
Clip the snap to the saw's lanyard ring and the other end to a tool loop or saw ring on your saddle.
A good saw lanyard is one of the cheapest pieces of protection in a climber's kit. It protects the crew below, the landscape, and the customer's property, and it keeps your expensive top-handle saw from hitting the ground.
Set it up so the saw hangs on your side away from your climbing system and does not tangle with your lanyard when you reposition.
Check the bungee for cuts and lost stretch, and make sure the snap closes fully. A chainsaw lanyard is not life-support equipment; never clip into it for positioning. See other chainsaw lanyards.
Retire the lanyard if the bungee is frayed or soft, or the snap does not close and lock fully. Keep it out of fuel and oil.
Check the attachment point on your saddle, too. A worn tool loop can let go just as easily as a worn lanyard.

No. It is a tool tether only and is not rated for life support.
Long enough to reach comfortably when stretched, short enough that the saw hangs clear of your feet and rope.
