ISC Nessie Lanyard Management Clip

The ISC Nessie is a lanyard management clip that holds your flipline neatly on the saddle when you are not using it, so the tail does not dangle and snag on limbs. It is a small piece of kit that makes moving through the canopy cleaner.

What the Nessie does

A flipline hanging loose from your saddle catches on stubs, gets in the way of the saw and drags through the dirt between climbs. The Nessie gives the lanyard a home on your saddle so it stays organized until you need it.

Climbers who work removals with spikes and a flipline all day tend to appreciate it most.

Keeping the lanyard stowed also protects it. A tail dragging on the ground picks up grit, and a loose flipline near the saw is a hazard. A stowed lanyard is cleaner, safer and ready to throw when you reach the next limb.

Important limits

The Nessie is a storage clip, not a life-support connector. Never clip into it as an anchor or attachment point. Life-support gear has to meet the applicable standard (ANSI Z133 and the manufacturer's instructions), be inspected before every use, and be used by trained climbers.

Check it for cracks and wear along with the rest of your saddle gear.

Mount it where you can reach it with either hand and where it does not interfere with your bridge, tie-in or other attachment points.

If it cracks, bends or stops holding the lanyard securely, replace it. It is a cheap part.
