Rigging

The CMI RopeJack bag is a dedicated carry bag for CMI's RopeJack and its accessories, so a mechanical advantage kit stays together and protected in the truck box. When the tree needs a pull, the whole kit comes out in one grab.

Why a dedicated bag

A mechanical advantage kit is only useful if all the parts are there when you need them. Keeping the RopeJack, its carabiners, and slings in their own bag means the kit comes out complete, every time, rather than pieces drifting into other bags on the truck.

A bag also keeps grit and moisture off the hardware. Browse our mechanical advantage section for gear to round out the kit.

When the pull needs to happen fast, such as a tree that sits back on the saw, nobody wants to search the truck for a missing carabiner. A dedicated bag keeps the kit ready.

Packing and care

Pack the hardware so it does not rattle or rub against sharp edges, and keep the bag away from fuel, bar oil, and chemicals. Let wet gear dry before you pack it away.

Use the time when you pack the bag to inspect the kit: check slings for cuts and the hardware for cracks or burrs. The bag itself is storage only and is not a load-bearing item.

Check the bag itself for torn seams, worn bottoms, and broken zippers or closures, and replace it before it starts losing gear. A clear label on the outside helps the crew grab the right bag on a busy job.
