These replacement Vermeer chipper blades are made for the BC2100, a big drum chipper built for large wood and whole-tree work. Sharp knives keep a machine that size feeding hard and running efficiently.

Confirm fit before ordering

Vermeer chipper knives are model-specific. A knife for a BC1250 or BC1800 will not necessarily fit a BC2100, so check your parts manual and serial number, measure your old knife and compare the bolt pattern and bevel with the listing. When in doubt, ask your dealer for the original part number and cross-reference it.

Big chippers chew through a lot of wood. Watch for slower feeding, the engine pulling down on wood it used to take easily, and rough chips. Inspect the anvil gap whenever you service knives. A worn anvil makes sharp knives work harder.

Large chippers are also hard on knives because of the size of wood they take. Big, dense hardwood and frozen wood in winter both wear edges faster. Keep a record of hours between sharpenings so you can spot when something is off, such as a wrong anvil gap or a lot of dirty material.

Safe knife changes

A large drum carries a lot of momentum. Shut down, remove the key, wait for the drum to stop and lock it in place per the manual before opening anything. Follow lockout procedures, wear cut-resistant gloves, use new bolts where the manual calls for them and torque to spec. Keep a sharp set at the shop so you can swap and send the dull set out for grinding. Other sizes are in our chipper knives section.

After installing a new or sharpened set, run the machine empty for a moment and listen for vibration or contact before feeding wood. Any unusual noise means shut down, lock out and recheck.
