A replacement brush chipper knife, sized 10-1/2 x 5 x 5/8 in.
This chipper knife measures 10-1/2 x 5 x 5/8 in and replaces worn knives on brush chippers that take that size. Sharp knives feed better, make cleaner chips, and put less strain on the machine.
Chipper knives vary by length, width, thickness, bolt pattern, and bevel. Match all of these to your chipper's manual or the knives you're replacing, not just the length. A knife that doesn't fit right can damage the drum or disc.
Replace knives as a set so the drum or disc stays balanced. See more chipper knives.
Many crews keep a sharpened spare set on the truck, so a knife change takes minutes instead of a trip to the shop. Rotate sets so one is always ready.
Dull knives slow feeding, make stringy chips, and strain the chipper. Sharpen them before they get badly worn, and keep the bevel at the factory angle. Replace knives that are too narrow after sharpening.
Shut down the chipper, remove the key, wait for everything to stop, and lock the drum or disc before you change knives. Torque bolts to the manufacturer's spec, set the anvil gap, and use new bolts if the manual calls for them.
Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling knives, even dull ones. Clean the knife seats before installing new knives so they sit flat. A knife that doesn't seat flat can work loose. Check bolts after the first few hours of use and inspect knives regularly for chips or cracks.

Check the length, width, thickness, bolt pattern, and bevel against your chipper's manual.
It depends on use and debris. Sharpen when feeding slows or chips get stringy.
