A replacement brush chipper knife, 7-1/4 in long, 4 in wide, 1/2 in thick.
This 7-1/4 x 4 x 1/2 chipper knife is a replacement blade for brush chippers built around that knife size. A fresh edge keeps the feed rollers pulling, the chips small, and fuel use down.
When the chipper starts bogging on brush it used to eat, the feed rollers hesitate, or the chips come out long and shredded, the knives are usually dull or chipped. Rocks, nails, and dirt in the brush pile speed that up.
Before ordering, check the bolt hole pattern and bevel against your manual or an old knife. The 4 in width is easy to confuse with the 4-1/2 in version. See the rest of our chipper knives.
Dirty, sandy material and roots wear knives far faster than clean limbs. Keep the chipper fed with clean brush where possible and stop to check knives after hitting anything hard.
Turn the machine off, take the key, and wait for full stop before opening the hood. Lock the disc or drum as the manufacturer describes, and wear cut-resistant gloves.
Replace knives in sets, torque the bolts to spec, and reset the anvil clearance. Keep a spare set in the truck so a hidden nail doesn't end the day.
Torque settings matter. Loose knife bolts can let a knife move, damage the seat, or even let parts come out of the machine. Use the chipper maker's spec and replace bolts that are stretched or damaged.

No. The width is different, so check which one your chipper takes.
It depends on what you feed it. Dirty brush and roots dull knives much faster than clean limbs.
