Safewaze D-Ring Extender

The Safewaze D-ring extender is a short webbing extension for the dorsal D-ring on a full body harness. It makes it easier to clip and unclip a lanyard yourself, which is handy for lift operators who connect many times a day.

Why use an extender

The back D-ring on a full body harness sits between your shoulder blades, which is the right place for fall arrest but awkward to reach. An extender brings the connection point up and out so you can hook up without help. Lift operators connecting and disconnecting through the day notice the difference.

An extender also helps when a worker wears a harness with limited mobility or bulky winter clothing, where reaching behind the shoulders is hard. Clearance and inspection

An extender adds length to your fall arrest system, which increases the required fall clearance. Factor it into your calculations and follow Safewaze's instructions on compatible lanyards.

Inspect the webbing, stitching and hardware before each use. Remove it from service after a fall or if you find damage, and make sure users are trained in fall protection.

Store the extender with the harness and lanyard, clean and dry, and keep it away from chemicals, fuel and sharp edges.
