Petzl SEQUOIA SRT Climbing Harness

The Petzl SEQUOIA SRT is a tree climbing harness with built-in shoulder straps, designed for single-rope technique with a chest-mounted ascender. It suits climbers who do a lot of SRS ascents and want a saddle that keeps them upright.

Made for SRS

On a single-rope ascent, a chest ascender keeps the rope close to your body and lets you stand and sit efficiently. The SEQUOIA SRT has shoulder straps built for that, so the ascender stays in place and you stay upright.

Once you are in the canopy, the bridge lets your work system slide as you turn, and side D-rings take a lanyard for positioning.

If you mainly climb on a moving rope system, the regular SEQUOIA without the shoulder straps may suit you better. If you ascend on a single rope most days, the SRT version is the one built around that work. Petzl also sells a seat accessory and replacement parts for this harness, which helps keep it in service over a long working life. Think about how much of your day is spent on ascent versus working in the canopy before choosing between them.

Fit and inspection

Size it with your climbing clothes on and adjust waist, legs and shoulder straps so the harness sits snug. Hang in it and test your ascent system on the ground.

Inspect webbing, stitching, buckles, bridge and attachment points before every climb. Replace worn parts with Petzl's specified parts.
