A quick-clip accessory hook for keeping tools and gear within reach aloft.
The DMM Captain Hook is an accessory hook that keeps tools and gear handy while you work aloft. Clip it to your saddle or a branch to hang a hand saw, a rope bag or extra hardware where you can grab it.
Every climber runs out of room on the saddle at some point. A dedicated gear hook gives your hand saw, spare carabiners or a small rope bag a place to hang so they are not cluttering your life-support connectors. Clip it to a gear loop or a sturdy branch and your tools stay where you can reach them.
That matters on long removals and big prunes, where you move between tools often and do not want to fumble at the side D-rings.
Hooks like this are especially handy when you are switching between a handsaw and a top-handle saw, or carrying a throw line and small rope bag up for a redirect. Instead of clipping everything to whatever connector is free, you give each item a place.
Keep them light. If you are hanging something heavy enough to worry about, it belongs on a rated attachment designed for that load.
Accessory hooks are for carrying gear, not people. Never clip it into your climbing system, lanyard or rigging. Keep life-support connectors and accessory hooks visually distinct so nobody mixes them up. Browse related hardware in other climbing gear.
Check it regularly for bends and gate damage, and replace it if it no longer closes cleanly.
Mark accessory hooks clearly, for example with colored tape, so they are never confused with rated carabiners in a hurry. That small habit prevents a dangerous mistake.
