A hand-spliced 3/8 in Tenex eye-to-eye for rigging hitches and utility tie-ins.
This Samson Tenex prusik is made from 3/8 in Tenex polyester with a spliced eye on each end. Crews use it as a rigging prusik, to set a quick false crotch or block, to tie off a tag line, or anywhere a short spliced sling with two eyes makes the job faster.
A short eye-to-eye is one of those pieces you end up using all day. Tie a prusik onto a rigging line to grab it for a haul, girth a stem to hang a small block, or set a quick redirect. Tenex is firm and holds its shape, so hitches are easy to set and release, and spliced eyes are stronger and neater than knots.
Because Tenex is polyester, it does not stretch much and stands up to sun and abrasion better than many nylon cords.
Spliced eyes also make it easy to clip to a carabiner or girth around a stem without any knots to inspect or untie at the end of the day.
Use this as a rigging and utility prusik unless the maker marks it for climbing. If you use any eye-to-eye as life support, it must be rated for that use, and use it only as part of a system that meets ANSI Z133 and the manufacturer's instructions, inspect it before every use, and get trained before you rely on it.
Retire it if the eyes or splices show wear, cuts or pulled strands. See other lengths in our eye-and-eye prusiks section.
Keep a couple of eye-to-eyes on the truck so you always have one handy for rigging hauls and tie-offs.

Spliced eyes are stronger than most knots, sit flatter and do not come untied.
