A compact Weaver bag for a single throw line.
The Weaver small throwline storage bag is a compact bag for one throw line. It keeps the line flaked and clean, and it is small enough to clip to a gear bag or tuck into a pocket of your kit.
A small throw line bag suits climbers who carry a shorter line, or who want a light bag that fits in a saddle bag or climbing kit. It is just big enough for the line and weight, so it does not take up room you need for other gear.
Thin throw line tangles faster than anything else in the truck. A loose pile turns into a bird's nest the moment you try to throw from it, and untangling it eats time at the start of every job. Keeping the line in a container that opens wide and lets it flake out cleanly is the easiest fix. Compare options in our gear storage section.
Feed the line in loosely rather than wrapping it, and keep the end tied off inside so it cannot be pulled away. Set the bag on the ground a step back from where you throw so the line peels off the top without catching your feet or brush.
Keep throw line dry and out of the sun between jobs, and away from fuel and bar oil. Before setting a climbing line, check the throw line and weight for cuts or damage, and keep the area under the throw clear of people.
A small bag is also a good choice for a backup line that rides in your saddle kit, ready for the day the main line gets stuck high in the canopy.

It suits a single, shorter throw line. If you carry a long line, a medium bag is easier to stuff quickly.
A cube holds its shape and stands open; a small bag is lighter and packs down. Both work.
