A collapsible throw line cube that sets up open and packs flat.
The Falteimer is a folding storage cube for throw line that stands open on the ground so line feeds out cleanly on the throw, then folds flat when you pack up. It keeps thin throw line from tangling in grass and brush, which saves time on every install.
Throw line is light and slick, so piled on the ground it grabs every twig, leaf and blade of grass. A cube stands the line up in a clean stack that pays out smoothly as the bag flies. When a throw misses, flake the line back into the cube and go again without stopping to untangle.
Set the cube on level ground, away from your feet, and clip or tie the tail end so the whole line cannot follow the throw bag over the limb.
Folding storage also keeps the line clean in the truck. Throw line that rides loose in a bin picks up grit and bar oil, and dirty line drags and snags on the way over the limb. A clean, dry line makes accurate throws easier.
Pull the line back into the cube, drop the throw bag on top and fold it down. Keep it in the gear bag so the line stays clean between jobs. Check your throw line for wear and fuzzing as you flake it, and retire it before it parts mid-pull.
Throw line kits get used on nearly every climb, so small time savings add up. A clean, contained line means fewer re-throws, less frustration and less time standing at the base of the tree before the real work starts.
