Climbing

The DMM Parking Lot is a saddle storage accessory that gives you a dedicated spot to park carabiners and small hardware between uses. Instead of hanging everything off one gear loop, you clip pieces in a row where they stay put and are easy to grab.

Why park hardware

On a removal you might carry a dozen connectors: for the lanyard, a redirect, a rigging point and a few spares. Thrown on one loop, they tangle and you end up opening the wrong gate. A parking spot keeps carabiners lined up, gates facing the same way, so you can unclip one without disturbing the rest.

It also helps at the end of the day, when you need to see at a glance that everything you took up came back down. Compare other saddle storage clips to build a layout that suits how you climb.

A tidy rack also helps when someone else on the crew needs to grab gear off your saddle in a hurry, or when you are setting up a rescue. Gear that lives in the same spot every day is gear you can find without looking. Many climbers set up both sides the same way so they can reach with either hand.

Setting it up safely

Fit the Parking Lot where DMM's instructions show and where it will not interfere with your bridge, lanyard rings or climbing system. Do not use it as an attachment point for a lanyard, a lowering line or any other load. Life-support connections belong on the saddle's rated attachment points.

Check it with your saddle inspection. Replace it if it is cracked, deformed or no longer holds hardware securely.
