SafetyClimbing

The Kask Super Plasma visor adapter is the bracket that connects a mesh visor carrier to the helmet. If you climb or run a saw in a Super Plasma and want a full face screen, this is one of the parts that makes the setup work.

Building a saw-ready Super Plasma

The Super Plasma is a popular climbing helmet, but out of the box it has no face screen. Adding a mesh visor makes it suitable for running a top-handle saw in the tree or a rear-handle saw on the ground, where chips and small branches come straight at your face.

This adapter is the link between the helmet and the visor carrier. Pair it with a mesh visor and, if you need them, Kask ear defenders that clip to the same helmet. Many users also wear safety glasses under the mesh to catch fine dust. See our eye protection range for visors and glasses.

A visor adds a little weight to the front of the helmet, so adjust the suspension and chin strap after you fit it. The helmet should stay level when you look down to make a cut and should not tip forward when the visor is lowered.

Fit and inspection

Check that your helmet model and visor carrier match this adapter before ordering, and install it following Kask's instructions without modifying the shell.

Before each day, make sure the visor raises and lowers cleanly and stays where you put it. A loose adapter is easy to tighten in the yard and a pain to deal with in the canopy.

If you share helmets across a crew, label the parts. Adapters and visors look similar between models, and mixing them up is a common reason a visor will not lock.
