SafetyMaintenance

This Kask Super Plasma visor hardware kit replaces the small parts that attach a visor to the helmet. When a pivot works loose or a part goes missing in the brush, a hardware kit is cheaper than a new visor and gets the helmet back in service.

Why visor hardware wears out

A visor gets flipped up and down dozens of times a day, knocked by limbs, and tossed in the truck with the rest of the gear. Over time the parts that hold it to the helmet loosen, crack or simply fall off. A visor that will not stay up, or drops into your face when you look down to make a cut, is more than an annoyance.

This kit gives you the replacement parts to rebuild the mount instead of buying a new visor. Check the listing against your helmet and visor model before ordering so you get the right pieces.

It is worth ordering a spare set before you need it. Small parts tend to go missing on the job, often when you are a long drive from the shop, and a visor that will not stay put usually ends up left in the truck. Swapping hardware takes a few minutes in the yard with the helmet on the tailgate.

Fitting and checking

Follow Kask's instructions when you swap parts, and do not modify or drill the helmet shell to make anything fit. Once installed, the visor should hold its position when raised and sit evenly when lowered.

Inspect the rest of the helmet while you are at it: the shell, the suspension and the chin strap. Replace a helmet after a significant impact or as the manufacturer directs. More visors and mounts are in our eye protection section.
