SafetyGround

The Forester rain guard fits a helmet-mounted earmuff and face screen setup to help keep rain and falling debris off the screen. It is a small accessory that helps when you are cutting in wet weather.

Why use a rain guard

Storm work and winter cutting often happen in the rain. Water running down a mesh or clear face screen blurs your view, and wet sawdust sticks to it. A rain guard sits above the screen and sheds most of that water and debris so you can see what the bar is doing.

It is a simple, inexpensive addition for anyone already running a helmet-mounted earmuff and screen. Browse other eye protection for screens and glasses.

Brims and rain guards also give a little shade, which helps reduce glare on a mesh screen when you are cutting into a low sun.

Fit and safety

Confirm the guard is compatible with your helmet, muff and screen system before ordering. It should not block your view or stop the screen from lowering fully.

A face screen is not a replacement for safety glasses. Wear eye protection that meets the applicable standard under the screen, and inspect all helmet accessories for cracks and loose fittings.

Keep spare screens on hand. A guard keeps rain off, but a bent or clogged mesh still hurts your view and should be replaced. Clean the screen and guard with water, not solvents, which can damage plastics. Check the mounting clips each time you swap screens.
