RiggingPro grade

The CMI Maxi rigging plate is a large rigging plate with multiple holes that turns a crowded anchor into an orderly one. Each carabiner, pulley or sling gets its own hole, so nothing loads across anything else.

Where a big plate helps

Anchors get busy fast. A haul system, a backup, a pulley and a lanyard can all want the same point. A rigging plate gives each one its own hole, keeps them hanging in line and makes it easy to unclip one without disturbing the others.

The Maxi size has more holes and room than a small plate, which suits larger systems and rescue setups. It is handy for ground anchors on mechanical advantage pulls too. Browse other gear in blocks and other hardware.

A plate can also serve as a master point on a multi-anchor system, collecting several anchor slings into one place for a haul or lowering setup. Keep the layout simple and consistent so anyone on the crew can check it at a glance.

Loading and inspection

Load the plate through its main attachment point and keep the connectors in their own holes. Know the ratings marked on the plate and keep every load within the weakest link of the system.

Inspect before each use for cracks, deep gouges, sharp edges, bending and corrosion. When used in a life-support or rescue system, follow ANSI Z133 and CMI's instructions and make sure the crew is trained.

Store the plate dry and away from corrosive chemicals, and file down small burrs only as the maker's instructions allow.
