8 mm Beeline polyester loop prusik with an aluminum ring.
The Yale Beeline 8mm loop prusik is a polyester prusik loop with an aluminum ring attached. Climbers use it for lanyard adjusters, foot ascender backups and other secondary hitches.
A prusik loop with a ring is a quick way to build an adjustable attachment: tie it around a rope, clip the ring and you have a grip that slides when unloaded and holds when loaded. Arborists use them as lanyard adjusters, foot ascender backups, or for tool and gear positioning.
At 8 mm it is smaller than a typical climbing hitch cord, so it grips well on thinner lines but should not be used as the main friction hitch on a full-size climbing rope unless the maker says so.
The aluminum ring gives a smooth, round attachment point for a carabiner or a micro pulley, and it keeps the hitch from wearing on a sharp connector. It also makes the loop easy to clip and unclip with gloves on when you are setting up at the base of the tree.
Test any hitch on the rope you will use it on before you trust it at height. Inspect the cord for glazing, fuzz, stiffness and cuts, and the ring for wear. Retire it at the first sign of damage.
Any life-support hitch must be used per Yale's instructions and ANSI Z133 by a trained climber. See all hitch cord and split tails.
