ClimbingPro grade

The Teufelberger multiANCHOR is an adjustable anchor sling that gives tree climbers a quick, secure anchor on stems and limbs of many sizes. Climbers use it as a canopy tie-in, a basal anchor for single-rope technique, or a redirect.

An anchor for many jobs

Single-rope climbing often starts with a basal anchor at the base of the tree, and the canopy anchor might be a big stem or a small lead. An adjustable anchor sling lets you build a clean, secure anchor on whatever the tree offers without carrying several fixed slings.

The multiANCHOR also doubles as a redirect or a quick anchor for rigging small pieces, as long as you stay within its ratings. Compare our other friction savers to see how it fits alongside a dedicated friction saver.

It is a handy piece to carry on every climb because it solves so many small problems: a redirect to keep the line out of a tight union, a quick anchor while you reset, or a base tie for an SRS ascent. Learn each configuration from the instructions before using it aloft.

Setup and inspection

Set it only as Teufelberger's instructions describe, with the adjustment locked and the anchor loaded in the direction it is designed for. Anchors are life-support gear: they must meet the applicable standard, be used within ANSI Z133 and be built by trained climbers.

Before each use, check the rope, terminations and hardware for cuts, abrasion, glazing and grooves. Retire it if anything is damaged, or after a shock load.
