A versatile friction saver that adapts to a range of limbs and tie-in setups.
The Sirius Multisaver is a versatile friction saver designed to adapt to different limb sizes and tie-in setups. Tree climbers use it to protect the bark and their climbing line while getting a clean, low-friction anchor.
Climbers who carry one friction saver want it to work on as many limbs as possible. A saver that adjusts lets you tie in on a skinny lead one day and a big crotch the next without carrying several lengths.
The Multisaver protects the bark and keeps your rope running smoothly, which saves effort on the ascent and wear on the rope. Compare it with our other friction savers to choose between fixed, adjustable and ground-set styles.
Being adjustable, it also helps you avoid choking a limb that is too small or using a sling that sits awkwardly in a narrow crotch. Set it so the rings or hardware sit where the rope will run cleanly, without rubbing on bark or other limbs.
Set it only as Sirius' instructions describe, on a sound limb of suitable size, and confirm the adjustment is secure before you weight it. A friction saver is life-support gear: it must meet the applicable standard, be used within ANSI Z133 and be installed by a trained climber.
Inspect the rope or sling, terminations and hardware before every climb. Retire any part that shows cuts, glazing, grooves or other damage. Store it dry and away from fuel and chemicals in the truck.
