A ready kit that pairs the Micrograb adjuster with lanyard rope.
This kit pairs the Petzl Micrograb rope grab adjuster with a length of lanyard rope, giving you an adjustable work-positioning lanyard without sourcing parts yourself. It is a light alternative to a wire core flipline for pruning and general climbing.
The Micrograb is only as good as the rope it runs on. A kit takes the guesswork out by matching the adjuster to a compatible rope, so you can set it up as Petzl shows and climb.
Rope lanyards are lighter and gentler on bark than wire core, which suits pruning and climbs where you are not cutting near the lanyard.
Kits are also handy as a second lanyard. Many climbers run a wire core flipline for cutting and a light rope lanyard like this for pruning, limb walking and choking a limb for a second point of contact.
Check cam wear, the spring and the body of the Micrograb, and inspect the rope for cuts, glazing and stiff spots. A rope lanyard is not cut resistant. Life-support gear has to meet the applicable standard and the manufacturer's instructions, get inspected before every climb, and be used only by trained climbers.
Want just the device? See the Petzl Micrograb lanyard adjuster.
Keep the lanyard rope away from fuel and bar oil, and let it dry after wet days before storing it. If the rope gets glazed or stiff near the adjuster, it is time to replace it.
