A magnetic holder that parks your lanyard on the saddle, ready to grab.
This magnetic lanyard management system parks the end of your lanyard on your saddle with a strong magnet, so it stays out of the way while you climb and comes off with one quick pull. No more lanyards dragging through the canopy or snagging on limbs.
A lanyard hanging loose snags on limbs, tangles with your climbing line and gets in the way of the saw. A magnetic lanyard holder keeps the snap parked where your hand expects it, so you grab it, wrap, clip and get on with the job.
It is a small change that makes a long day of spar work smoother.
It also helps on the ground. A lanyard that stays parked on the saddle does not drag through mud and sawdust as you walk to the base of the tree, so it stays cleaner and lasts longer. And when you need it in a hurry, it is right where your hand expects it.
Mount it where you naturally reach and where it will not interfere with your bridge or D-rings. It is a storage device only and holds no load, so never use it as an attachment point. Check that magnets and mounting stay secure. For lanyards themselves, see rope lanyards.
Keep the magnet clean of metal shavings and chain filings, which build up over time and weaken the hold. Wipe it down when you clean your saddle and check the mount for loose stitching or fasteners. Remember that anything clipped to your saddle should be checked as part of your normal pre-climb inspection.
