ClimbingSafetyPro grade

The Tachyon pink lanyard kit pairs Teufelberger's tachyon climbing rope, in pink, with the parts you need for an adjustable positioning lanyard. Climbers use it to lean back and work two-handed while flipping around the stem or working a limb walk.

What the lanyard does

A positioning lanyard is your second point of attachment and your way to hold a stable work position. Choke it around the stem or a limb, snug the adjuster and lean back, and you have both hands for the saw. On spar work it is what holds you while you make the cuts.

Tachyon has a firm, round feel that grips well under a hitch and runs smoothly through hardware. The pink color stands out against the bark. Compare all our lanyard kits to see different ropes and adjusters.

A kit saves you from sourcing rope, connector and adjuster separately and checking they all work together. Read the listing for exactly what is included, the length, and whether the adjuster is mechanical or a hitch, so you know what to expect when it arrives and what else you may need.

Before you climb on it

Check what the kit includes and confirm every component is assembled exactly as the manufacturer specifies. A lanyard is life-support gear and must meet the applicable standard, be used within ANSI Z133 and be used only by trained climbers.

Inspect the rope, splices and hardware before every climb. Never cut with the saw near the lanyard; a wire-core flipline is the right choice for heavy spar work. Retire it after any cut, glazing, a shock load or a damaged eye.
