Genuine service parts to keep a SpiderJack climbing device running right.
These SpiderJack 2:1 replacement parts let you service worn components on ART's mechanical MRS climbing device. Using the right parts keeps the device working the way it was designed instead of retiring it early.
A mechanical friction device takes rope wear, grit and sap every climb. Parts such as springs, pins and wear components eventually need replacing, and fitting them is far cheaper than a new device. Confirm which parts are in the kit and that they match your SpiderJack version before you order.
Keep the old parts until the device has been tested with the new ones, in case you need to compare them. Write down the date and what you replaced in your gear log, so you know the service history the next time you inspect the device or hand it to another climber.
If you are shopping for a complete device, see our MRS climbing devices.
Only replace parts that ART allows users to replace, and follow its service instructions exactly. If a part requires factory service, send the device back rather than improvising a repair.
After any service, function-test the device low to the ground before climbing. Retire it if you see cracks, deformation or wear beyond ART's limits, and keep a record of inspections as part of your ANSI Z133 program.
Clean and dry the device before any service work, and work on a clean bench so small parts do not go missing. Use only genuine parts; mixing parts from other devices can change how the SpiderJack grips and releases the rope.
