A 24-strand 11.7mm climbing line in a 200 ft length for taller trees.
The All Gear Sawtooth climbing rope is an 11.7mm 24-strand line, and the 200 ft length gives you enough rope to reach high tie-in points and still get back to the ground. It suits climbers who want one line for both doubled-rope and single-rope work.
An 11.7mm line sits in the middle of the arborist range. It is thick enough to hold a Distel or VT on a matching hitch cord and to run through the many SRS devices built around 11 to 13 mm rope, yet light enough to carry up a big tree.
Two hundred feet matters when you are tied in high and working doubled, because a doubled system needs twice the height to reach the ground. It also gives you spare tail for redirects on wide-spreading crowns, and a long line can later be cut down into a shorter climbing line and a lanyard.
Match hitch cord to the rope diameter and test the hitch low before you commit to it. If you run a mechanical device, confirm the rope is on its approved list. Keep the line in a bag, away from saw fuel and the bed of the truck.
Climbing line is life-support equipment. Use it only within the manufacturer's instructions and ANSI Z133, inspect it before every climb, retire it when the cover is cut or glazed or the core feels damaged, and get proper training before you trust it. For doubled-rope climbing in tall trees it gives you enough to reach the ground. On smaller trees you can flake out only what you need.
Many SRS devices accept 11.7mm rope, but always check the device maker's approved rope list.
