A long 3/4 inch dead-eye sling with a ring for big-stem rigging points.
This 3/4 inch dead-eye ring sling is 15 ft long with a ring on it, giving you a heavy rigging point that wraps big stems. Run your line through the ring or clip a block to it, and choke the sling through its eye on the stem.
When the rigging point is a large trunk and the wood is heavy, you need length and strength. At 15 ft, this sling can wrap wide stems and still leave tail for a good choke, and 3/4 inch rope carries the loads that come with big removals.
The ring gives the line a smooth, friction-adding path, or a place to clip a block. More rigging slings are in our heavy-duty slings section.
Before each job, run the sling through your hands. Look for cut or pulled strands, glazed or melted fibers, flat or stiff spots, and heavy UV fading, and check that the splices and buries are intact. Retire it if you find damage you can't explain or after a shock load bigger than you planned for.
Heavy rigging puts serious load on the stem as well as the gear, so pick a sound rigging point. Rigging gear is for moving wood, not for life support. Match every component to the load with a working margin, follow the manufacturer's ratings and ANSI Z133, and make sure the crew is trained in rigging before relying on it. Note when each piece went into service, so worn gear gets retired on time instead of living on the truck for years.

Length lets you wrap large stems with enough tail for a proper choke and to position the ring where you want it.
A ring adds friction and saves weight; a block runs freer. Choose based on wood size and how much friction you want at the top.
